Caterpillars
This week we have been looking after our seeds. They have started to grow. We have watered them and put them out in the sunshine.
We have made some paper plate chickens and frogs which was fun. We looked at baby lambs and finger painted little lambs. We used bottles to print pretty pink blossoms and also printed butterflies for our spring display. We have learnt lots about spring this week!

In our small group work we practised our listening of different instruments – wood, metal, plastic and drums. We learnt the different sounds and played our instruments very loudly and very quietly; fast and slowly and then all together in a big circle. It was such good fun!
We tapped out rhythms and each other’s names. We also used our rhythm sticks to dance and sing to our ‘music, music song’. We made use of the school field, kicking our footballs as high and as far as we could.
Next week, we shall learn about the Easter story and go on an Easter Egg hunt 😊 Here is our photo of lamb.

Elmers
This week we have put the finishing touches to our special cards and they have been sent home ready for Sunday.
We have also started making our Easter cards. We have sponge painted, glued using cotton wool, drawn patterns and written our names. We will be sending them home next week, ready for Easter.
On the theme of Easter, we have been counting, drawing and colouring Easter Eggs. We are also learning the song, ‘Chick, chick, chicken’! Next week we will be talking more about Easter and Springtime, especially about new life – lambs, chicks and bunnies. If you go out for a walk this week, see if you can count how many rabbits and lambs you can see!
Our healthy cook chef teddy, called Chief, has shown us how to make healthy oat cookies. They have no sugar in them and are absolutely delicious. We are looking forward to Chiefs next trip home with one of our nursery friends.
Most exciting this week is the arrival of our new toy police cars. We ride in these in the outside play area. We toot the horns and fill up with petrol. We are learning to patiently wait our turn as we know that when it is our turn that we will enjoy having a ride and chasing our friends!
